Westover has been involved in the Northern Region of Ghana since 1999. Westover Missions teams regularly visit this predominantly Muslim and sub-Saharan region of Ghana to teach in over 50 schools the fundamentals of Christianity and Christian values to prepare students for their Religious and Moral Education final examination. Visiting teams from Westover have assisted schools in rebuilding damaged buildings, provided electricity to schools, and provided teaching materials to thousands of students and teachers and desks to hundreds of students. Westover members also support fresh water well drilling, farming, and medical care to residents in the far-reaching Yendi and Mion areas. Westover partners with local churches such as Yendi Church of Christ and ministers to assist them in their needs. Travel to villages is generally via motorcycles with local drivers along with basic food and accommodations.
