On any given Tuesday or Thursday morning between 10 and noon, Anne Hestvedt can be found serving at Encompass Ministries, sorting and preparing food donations for distribution to people in need. David, Len, and Paul, along with Roger Heberer pick up food, clothing, and other items donated by the Walmart on Bells Ferry Road. The men also pack boxes of food for different organizations that pick up the donations and provide meals for a children’s group and a group for men in recovery. Susan Austin, David’s wife, started serving at Encompass about three months ago. She helps in the organization’s office, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments for prospective clients, greeting those who come to the facility for appointments, and explaining Encompass’ services.
