Students feel welcomed and cared for as soon as they walk through the door. Commit to a monthly rhythm to volunteer. (And let us know if your plans change.) Show up with energy and be ready to smile. Go the extra mile as often as possible, so every student (and especially first-time guests) feels like a VIP. Look for and engage with students who may be new, lost, or alone. Clearly communicate directions around the church, next steps for new students, and the basic structure of the ministry program. Make sure every student goes through the check-in process. Say goodbye to students as they leave.
